Snake Gaiters South Africa
Looking for snake gaiters South Africa? This is the best snake protection available.
The great outdoors wouldn’t be great without snakes (in our opinion anyway). But, if you spend time outdoors, snakes are a fact of life. And they’re here to stay. But that doesn’t mean they should be feared.
Whether you’re a birder, hiker, fisherman, hunter, field worker - whatever your outdoor involvement - your chances of encountering a snake are relatively slim. However, that doesn’t mean that it can’t happen. It does.

At Cape Snake Conservation our primary purpose is to promote a healthy coexistence between man and snake. And, as most snakes are killed by people as a result of fear, we do our best to educate and provide preventative products and services for those that may come into contact with them.
Snake leg protection in South Africa is not easy to find. Imported from the USA, Snake Guardz - snake gaiters, provide full lower leg snake protection and have been tested on various venomous snakes - including the infamous puff adder.
Snake Guardz™ are constructed with 1000 denier Nylon encasing polycarbonate inserts which stop the fangs of venomous snakes. Snake Guardz™ are snakeproof to 43cm high-just like snake boots. Weighing only 11 oz each, they are puncture resistant tested to ASTM 1342-05 standards and stop a 12-guage shotgun blast at 18 metres! They utilize a unique toe cover which covers the laces of a boot or shoe and prevent the possibility of snake fangs becoming entangled in shoe laces when struck. You don’t want a puff adder hung on your shoe laces. Snake Guardz™ is one of the most effective leg armor products available. Wear with thick leather shoes or boots for guaranteed protection against venomous snakes.
